Amy Pyle Chow

Amy Pyle was trained through Carriage House Birth in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Prior to her doula training, she worked as an editor in book publishing and as the fulltime caregiver to her daughter. Her calling to birth work solidified during her own postpartum experience when she learned firsthand how important it is to be surrounded by a calm, loving, experienced village during the transformative period of becoming a parent.

Amy believes pregnancy is a beautiful time to focus on your growing family by slowing down, and she will support this inward searching and slowing as much as possible. Through listening to your needs, fears and wishes, and encouraging you to explore and evaluate all your options, her goal is to help you create a relaxed labor and birth experience and to hold space for you during your unique passage into parenthood, whether it’s the first or third time. She will always honor whatever decisions you make for you and your family and support you with the understanding that you and your baby are your most powerful guides.

Amy is a certified prenatal yoga instructor (Prenatal Yoga Center 2012) and certified in HypnoBirthing Support Techniques (HypnoBirthing NY 2018). You can learn more about her work and training through her project @edgeofthenest, which includes birth doula services + story sharing + community gatherings.
